We deliver stories in dominant and native languages to out-of-school children (OOSC) through mobile phones.
The problem
Traditional schooling has not been enough to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.3
Barriers to school attendance include:6
→ Lack of clean and safe toilets;
→ Harvest seasons and market days;
→ Forced migration;
→ Cost of fees, supplies and uniforms.Â
Our solution
Flexible Learning Strategies
To ensure that, regardless of mode, duration, and location or whether delivered in a formal or non-formal system, excluded children can acquire basic literacy skills.7
Pilot in Ghana
During a 8-day period, we delivered 390 audio stories in Ga, Twi, Ewe, and English to 117 children from low-income families between the ages of 4 and 9.
